Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Cubtale, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website cubtaie.com and the Cubtale application (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Cubtale is an AI parenting assistant that helps families track their infant's feeding, sleep, and developmental milestones and provides plain-language guidance on what is normal for their baby's current age and stage. Because our core service involves data about infants and young children -- entered by parents and caregivers on behalf of their child -- we take the handling of that information seriously.

We are based at 1201 Second Avenue, Suite 900, Seattle, WA 98104 and can be reached at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide About Your Account

When you create a Cubtale account, we collect:

  • Your name and email address;
  • Your account password (stored as a one-way hash -- we never store the plaintext);
  • Any preferences or settings you configure.

2.2 Infant and Child Data You Log

The core function of Cubtale is reading the logs you keep about your baby. Information you enter includes:

  • Infant identifying details (first name or nickname, date of birth, birth weight, sex);
  • Feeding records: time, duration, breast side or formula volume, any notes;
  • Sleep records: start and end times, nap or overnight, any notes;
  • Milestone events: first smile, first roll, first words, and similar developmental markers;
  • Any free-text notes you add to a log entry.

This data is processed solely to generate the weekly summaries and pattern notes that are the Company's service. We do not use your infant's data to train machine-learning models for third parties, and we do not sell it.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit cubtaie.com or use the app, we automatically collect limited technical information:

  • IP address and approximate location (city or region level);
  • Browser type, operating system, and device class;
  • Pages visited, referring URLs, and time on page;
  • Cookie and similar identifiers (see Section 5 and our Cookie Notice).

2.4 Data About Minors -- Parental Entry Model

Cubtale is a tool for parents and caregivers. The data about infants and children is entered by the parent or caregiver who holds the account -- not by the child. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has somehow created an account or submitted information independently, contact us at [email protected] and we will investigate and delete the data.

Because this Service handles data about infants, we treat all child-related log entries with heightened care: access controls are strict, this data is not used for advertising, and it is not shared with any third party except the service providers named in Section 4, under contractual confidentiality obligations.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the core Cubtale service: analyse your feeding, sleep, and milestone logs and generate the weekly summary and guidance notes your account displays;
  • Send you service notifications (for example, if a pattern in your logs crosses a threshold we flag for pediatrician review);
  • Respond to your support inquiries;
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service technically (bug fixes, performance, reliability);
  • Send service-related email (account activation, password reset, billing receipts);
  • Send optional product updates or parenting-content newsletters if you opt in;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information for monetary value. We do not use your data or your infant's data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf -- for example, cloud hosting, transactional email delivery, and anonymised usage analytics -- under contractual confidentiality terms that limit their use of the data to providing the contracted service;
  • Legal authorities, when required by law or court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property;
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply to your data.

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not share infant log data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any entity outside the service-provider category above.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, maintain your login session, remember preferences, and measure aggregate usage. For details and choices -- including how to opt out of analytics cookies and how we respond to Global Privacy Control signals -- see our Cookie Notice.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and infant logs for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your data within 30 days except where a shorter or longer period is required by law. You can export all your logs as a PDF at any time from within the app (Premium plan) or by contacting us.

Server access logs are retained for 90 days, then aggregated. Inactive marketing-list contacts (no login, no email open) are purged after 24 months.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive fields, restricted-access databases, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Your General Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, data portability, and the ability to limit certain processing. To make any request, email [email protected] with a description of what you are asking for and enough detail for us to verify your identity. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Washington State Residents

Washington does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy statute. As a matter of policy, the Company extends the following baseline rights to all U.S. residents regardless of state of residence.

9.1 Baseline Rights

  • Right to Know: request the categories of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Delete: request deletion of personal information you have provided.
  • Right to Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt Out of Marketing: unsubscribe from marketing emails or opt out via the link in each marketing message.

9.2 How to Exercise

Email [email protected] with a description of your request and enough detail for us to verify your identity. We respond within 45 days.

9.3 Sector-Specific Rights

If you are protected by federal sector laws (for example, FERPA in an educational context), those laws may give you additional rights with respect to data covered by them.

9.4 California Visitors

If you are a California resident, you may also exercise the rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To submit a CCPA/CPRA request, email [email protected] with the subject line "California Privacy Request."

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, a notice within the Service or by email.
