Built by a parent, during maternity leave.
Selin kept careful logs but none of the apps told her what the numbers meant week by week. The guidance was in the research. It just was not in her hands at 3am. So she built it.
Why we built this.
In the first weeks with a newborn, almost everything feels uncertain. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Most parents do what Selin did: log obsessively and still feel unsure about what the logs mean.
The developmental research exists. Week-by-week reference ranges for feed frequency, sleep consolidation, and typical variation are well documented. But that knowledge was locked inside academic papers and pediatrician offices, not in the app a parent is already looking at at 3am.
Cubtale's job is simple: read the logs parents already keep and tell them what the numbers mean at this specific age, this specific week. No score. No alarm. Plain language that a tired parent can actually use.
This is guidance, not medical advice. When something in the data crosses a threshold that is worth raising with a pediatrician, Cubtale says so clearly. You decide what to do with that information.
Three people who care about getting this right.
Selin Tamer
CEO and Co-Founder
Selin built the first version of Cubtale during her own maternity leave in 2024. Her background is in product and mobile engineering, with years spent building consumer-facing apps before she decided to work on a problem she had lived through herself.
Priya Mehta
Head of Product
Priya joined Cubtale in early 2025. She spent years building consumer health apps before a career turn toward direct clinical work and back into technology. She brings both a product builder's eye and a clinician's understanding of what parents actually need to know at each developmental stage.
Oren Blau
Head of Engineering
Oren is a mobile infrastructure specialist who has spent his career building backend systems for consumer apps. He joined Cubtale because the problem is genuinely hard: making developmental reference data legible in real time, on a device a parent is holding at 3am.
The values that shape how we build.
Plain language over alarm
Anxiety is not helpful for parents or for babies. Our summaries are written to be clear, not dramatic. If something is fine, we say it is fine.
Honest about what we are
Cubtale provides guidance based on developmental reference data. We are not a medical device. We never pretend to be. When something warrants a call to your pediatrician, we say so clearly and stop there.
Your data is yours
We do not sell your data. We do not use your baby's logs to train models for third parties. You can export everything and delete your account at any time.
Built for the actual first year
We did not build a general parenting app. We built something specific to the first year because that is when the data changes fastest and parents need it most.
$750,000 angel round, July 2025.
Cubtale raised $750,000 in angel funding in July 2025. The round is being used to complete the core product and reach the families who need it most in that first, overwhelming year.
